Happy Autumn Tricks and Treats

Staying Beautiful in this Season:

Happy Autumn,
I don't know about you but I love this season with it's brightly colored leaves of yellows and reds, orange pumpkins and strange looking gourds with ghoulish bumps. Halloween is coming and isn't it fun to see the houses as they begin to transform into being scary haunted and playfully fun. Aren't the decorations exciting and delightful? Soon we'll be seeing children dressed as super hero's princesses ghosts and goblins and hearing their collective chorus of "Trick or Treat"

You're probably wondering what this has to do with skin care? Good question! Have you noticed with this season the air is crisp and dry? Yep it is and this crisp dry weather tends to cause your skin to feel a little or a lot like those beautiful crispy leaves that crunch under foot. So it's time for you to take action and make a few adjustments in your home care routine otherwise you may see your skin doing some ghoulish transformation of it's own.

Staying beautiful this Autumn...Tricks and Treats...

Exfoliate!
It's time to exfoliate the build up of summer sun drenched skin.  Exfoliating will smooth the surface of your skin and allow your serum gel and moisturizer to penetrate and nourish your skin more effectively.

Recommendations: Essensa's Scrubbing Gel or Lemon Enzyme Exfoliant (depending on your skin type use every other day to daily). Even using a wash cloth or exfoliating gloves if you don't normally use them will help.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Make sure you're drinking plenty of spring or filtered water and staying away from the drying effects of caffeine and alcohol both are very dehydrating.

Recommendations: Use Essensa's Rose Hydrating Mask a few times a week. Or use daily after washing and toning as a leave on hydration layer to add extra moisture before applying your cream. For an extra hydration boost incorporate Essensa's Hydrating Skin Balancer to your night time routine for the next few weeks.

Moisturize! This is the time of year to change up your moisturizer or to at least use more of what you are using. It's important to seal in the moisture and protect your skin from the dry air.

Recommendations: Essensa's Vitacreams are filled with the bounty of earths harvest and will give you the extra vitamins and minerals your skin needs at this time. Try Peach Tomato Vitacream rich in peach, tomato and active organic plant extracts to fight free radicals that provides critical care to activate skin function, lock in skin’s natural moisture and balance oil glands for a smooth, supple skin.

I hope you find these tricks and treats helpful. Post your questions and results. You can also call if you would like a consultation.

Happy Autumn,
Judi

Hydration and...

Posted on August 11, 2014 at 2:13 AM Comments comments ()
Hydration Self care tip...Did you know that coffee and alcohol are both dehydrating? I know most of us love our morning cup of joe and evening wine...well I use to too. Only now I just can't get away with either anymore. Why is that... they disturb my sleep at night and well make my skin dry no matter what I do on the outside. So if your skin is feeling dry no matter how much moisturizer hydrator serums oils etc. you put on your skin try rehydrating with plenty of water and cutting out or down on the coffee and wine. Let me know what you discover.

July in California

It's July in California and with the humidity we're having you might think we are living in the mid west. Is your skin more moist using the same products? It's due to the humid weather ahhhh!!! Or maybe your skin is feeling to sticky?  Try using a little less cream or switching to a lighter one during this unusually humid time. Happy summer!
